That being said, as far as I can tell it's still more or less the same in Transport Fever. What you want would require it to do routing all the time in the background, many times per second. Every once in a while, when you click something. Train Fever does routing every time you change a line or a rail. It's not really a matter of how smart the AI is, it's a matter of performance. I guess this can also be fixed with signals etc but I think the AI should be smart enough to use free tracks. Especially since when I first created the line it showed the coloured track only on one side, so line1 on the left rail and line2 on the right rail but when I actually started the second line it also was using the left rail. Why bother putting up a second railroad track then? I hope the campaign in Transport Fever will explain such things when they first pop up.Īlso what annoyed me was that I had multiple tracks in parallel and had 2 lines on it so train1 would be at A while train2 would be at B (with some stops in between) but since I had both of them connected to the same depot and had some switches connecting the two tracks they both used the same track and just ended up looking at each other on the same track at some point instead of using the perfectly free track directly next to them. Yeah that's probably it, I only played train fever for a few hours and didn't really get around to watch any tutorials.
